Karen Woods
Karen Woods combines approaches from both Eastern and Western landscape painting to create a compelling and highly relevant contemporary urban landscape, filled with imagery from her everyday life: streets, traffic, road construction, and power lines. Her paintings explore the coexistence and interaction of natural and constructed elements in her environment, capturing the powerful if unusual beauty of the common experience.
Karen received her BFA from the California College of the Arts in Oakland, California, in 1987. Her work is included in the permanent collections of the Boise Art Museum in Boise, Idaho, the Cedar Rapids Museum of Art in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Boise Visual Chronicle, Boise City Arts Commission in Boise, Idaho, Cary Street Partners, LLC in Charlotte, North Carolina, and Boise State University in Boise, Idaho.
