Alan Macdonald creates a world that combines the impeccable technicality of the Flemish masters with the modern irony of pop art, seamlessly united into a unique and compelling aesthetic. His work simultaneously reveals serenity and humor, blending elements from the conscious and the subconscious to create dream-like settings, full of familiarity but existing outside of time.

Alan Macdonald studied Fine Art at Duncan of Jordanstone College of Arts, Dundee, Scotland. His work has been included in the Royal Scottish Academy of Arts 189th exhibition in 2015, and in REALITY, Modern and Contemporary British Painting, at the Sainsbury Centre for Visual Arts, Norwich, England, 2014 and the Walker Gallery, Liverpool, England, 2015. Alan Macdonald’s paintings are in public, private and corporate collections worldwide, including: EMI London, Corinthia Hotel London, Kayley Hong Kong, WorldCom UK, Old Mutual London, Artemis Artforms Leeds, The Prudential London, Ampersand Hotel London, Scion Los Angeles.
